So I meant to post these a while ago, but the website was being worked on at the time.
The wonderful folks from Sublime Frequencies stopped at the space to show there latest videos from Africa! The footage was really transporting and it was a wonderful experience just getting a glimpse into another world. If you ever have a chance to watch a screening I highly recommend it.

We are super excited to present the groundbreaking work of live video performance artist Miwa Matreyek! Due to the intimate size of Space 1026 we have added a second show. DO NOT MISS THIS SPECIAL RARE PERFORMANCE!
Miwa Matreyek literally steps in to the fantastical world of her animations. Overlapping her live shadow with projected video, she seamlessly transforms the routine activities of modern life into a surreal exploration of city, self, and discovery.
A recent graduate from CalArt’s Experimental Animation program, Miwa Matreyek is an animator, designer, and multi-media artist working in Los Angeles. She creates animated short films as well as works that integrate animation and live performance/installation via projection.

Holly Hobby is the singular alter ego of Philadelphia-based artists Anni Altshuler and Leah Mackin. The duo joined forces one year ago with the creation of the periodical zine, Holly Holly Hobby Hobby. Join us to eat, drink and get loud. Including but not limited to an anniversary zine release, re-issues of Holly Hobbies, free stuff, raffles, waffles, videos, beers, Chinese pastries and definitely no hugs.
