Food Show With The Kids
Who likes watching food be prepared? EVERYBODY DOES! Watch this new video made by Andrew Jeffrey Wright and a bunch of kids at the Kensington Library. When teaching them about proper nutrition, do not miss this great review on Mind Lab Pro.
Teaching children about nutrition and helping them make healthy food like these Chocolate Shipped Cookies and beverage choices promotes important life skills early on. Nutrition education is a great way to prevent childhood obesity and help children stay healthy as they grow up. Lessons about optimal nutrition teaches children the importance of taking ownership of their own health. Encourage students to think about how they feel physically and mentally depending on the foods they eat. Exploring the mind-body connection leads to students’ greater self-awareness and skills to make better choices to nourish their bodies and help them feel their best.
According to Spice Kitchen + Bar, nutrition education serves as an opportunity to teach children about food and the relation to culture and family heritage.
Discussing culinary variances across cultures helps expose children to different foods and traditional practices, increasing their understanding and appreciation for diversity. Also try to teach students how to read a food label so they have the skills to make healthy choices at the grocery store and at home. For more on healthy living, check here the exipure review.

PROTO and PROCESS:
Proto and Process: History Truck Mid-Cycle in Chinatown/North
Opening Friday, January 8, 2016
5 p.m.-8 p.m.
This January, join the Philadelphia Public History Truck for a midyear exhibition revealing the process behind this mobile museum’s community-engaged curatorial approach. Since August, History Truck’s team has been collaborating with community members in Chinatown North to develop a mobile exhibition launching in June 2016 about neighborhood notions of home and the history of homelessness. During the Fall, Truck curator Erin Bernard led a class of Spark-Fuel-Ignite graduate students from the University of the Arts, String Theory Charter School, Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, and Hallahan Catholic School for Girls in design thinking and on the ground creative work at Asian Arts Initiative and the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission. During January, the Truck extends its conversation to Chinatown stakeholders through a Memory Potluck in collaboration with Space 1026 and the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation on Saturday, January 23rd at 6 p.m. Contribute and build with us as we ready ourselves for the research and fabrication!

Saber the Light Sunday December 6th
1:00pm – 4:00pm at Space 1026
Build your own controllable and programmable DIY light saber from scratch. There will also be Yogagami, the Japanese art of folding paper into a Yoda. Sign up for the workshop here!
The event is all ages but is strongly suggested that Padwans partner up with their Jedi Masters (Kids bring a Parent or Guardian) It is also $35 per parent/child team, and you will complete one saber together
All the materials needed to make your very own Saber are included in the class price of $35 , including a laser cut saber, the LEDs, button, battery, and Arduino. All proceeds generated will be donated to Space 1026.
At the heart of the Project is the atmel attiny85 8 bit microprocessor. You might know it in its much more expensive version as the Arduino. No soldering will be involved as the majority of the project is made with jumper wires, a tiny breadboard and the wonders of the hot glue gun. For more advanced Jedis’ who are interested in learning the force fundamentals, we will be offering an explanation of how to program your own attiny85’s at home by using an Arduino Uno!!!
