Movie Night at Space 1026!

Join us for a screening of Encounters of the Spooky Kind (1980), Starring and directed by Sammo Hung.
Total running time: 1 hour 39 minutes
A slapstick Kung-Fu film featuring hopping vampires and Taoist Voodoo mysticism. Hung is known for his ability to mix great action sequences with humor.
The main character’s wife is having an affair, so in order to get him out of the picture a black magic priest is employed to take care of him. Lot’s of great fight scenes, this film is a classic for all ages.
There will be popcorn and possibly another video afterward to be announced.

We will be having a screening of “Boxer’s Omen” – a Shaw Brothers production kung-fu horror film:
Mo (Boxer’s Omen) – 1983
Total running time: 1 hour 43 minutes
This movie is about a kickboxer who seeks revenge for his brother in a kickboxing match only to get involved in an epic battle between mystic Buddhist powers and Voodoo cult forces.
Be prepared for plenty of gore and cheesy effects, but the most surprising thing about this film are also some pretty visually stunning scenes. I would say if you ever wanted to watch a film that was a combination of Holy Mountain and Evil Dead in a kung-fu film, this would be it.
So come on by Friday night and there will be popcorn and a second film to be announced.

Baltimore Tonight!!!
If anyone is in Baltimore tonight, I’ll be participating in an artists’ talk with In Our Nature Curator Rachel Sitkin and artist Michelle Hagewood at the Maryland Art Place. The talk is at 5 pm with a closing reception after that goes until 7. For those curious about the show, you can read Alex Ebstein’s review in the Baltimore City Paper. OR, for those in Philadelphia, don’t forget Mark Price is playing with a bunch of Baltimore bands tonight.
