Voxumenta

Vox Populi is a nonprofit artists’ collective that was founded in 1988 tosupport the work of emerging artists, One of Philadelphia’s most importantvenues for ambitious, experimental art, Vox features regular exhibitions,gallery talks, performances and lectures throughout the year.

Vox is currently accepting submissions for Voxumenta, a juried group show ofemerging artists that will be exhibited at the gallery from May 5-May 27,2006. Emily Hage, Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow, Modern andContemporary Art, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Pepon Osorio,Philadelphia-based artist whose exhibitions include the Whitney Biennial,the ICA and the Smithsonian American Art Museum will jury the show.

Artists of all media are invited to submit up to 3 examples of workcompleted within the last three years. All submitted work must be availablefor exhibition.

To apply:

  • 1. Artists may submit up to 3 slides- numbered and labeled with artist’sname, title, date, media, dimensions of work and an arrow indicating the topof the slide (CD for audio or DVD for video submissions).
  • 2. Completed Voxumenta submission form (which can be found on our websiteat http://www.voxpopuligallery.org
  • 3. Current resume
  • 4. SASE
  • 5. $20 entry fee (please make checks payable to Vox Populi)

****STOLEN****

The bookmobile van got stolen sometime between 10pm Monday night and 7.30amtoday…It was on 49th street, just north of Baltimore Ave. in West Philly.It is gigantic, white, and says “projet MOBILIVRE BOOKMOBILE project” on theside in 10″ high gray vinyl letters. Pretty hard to miss…Any sightings/ideas, please call courtney: 267 304 4353.It is used for a non-profit bookmobile project and we need it back!click here to see a big picture of the van
