NNNOTES FROM THE ROAD

How many bars in Columbia can a barely known perfromance art crew roll into, pretty much unnanounced, and then be treated as if they were U2, The Blue Man Group and Nico all rolled up into one? I think this could only happen at a singular bar here in Columbia and that bar is The Whig and fortunately for us that is the bar we were at last night. With just a few days notice Jeffrey Mayday Mayday booked us at The Whig, which is a dark, tight, little, downtown basement hole with good vibrations. The local ABC news station is on the floor above the bar and so as to not disrupt them a we couldn’t start the show until after thier 11 o’clock news broadcast was over. The show went great and I have the photos to prove it! Well, actually I don’t have a digital camera so you will have to wait three weeks until my trip is over and then another day for me to get my film developed and then another few hours for me to scan the photos and then woo la! Photos to prove it! Sweatheart is now officially a college rock band. Narwhalz Of Sound is now a therapy session. My Art Jokes performance is now an experimantal one man play about God, Nature and Beanie Babies. Tonight we hit Greancup Books in Birmingham at 9pm. If you live near Birmingham please show up. If you have friends that live within a 248 mile radius of Birmingham tell them to be there. Thanks.

UN NATURE.

Little Berlin Gallery presents Un Nature, the artwork of

Katie Elia
Bonnie Brenda Scott
Adam Bush
and Nate Butler

Opening Saturday April 4th
6 – 11PM
With musical guests Bandname and DJ Mr. 10 Fingers.
1801 N. Howard st. Philadelphia 19122

“Un-Nature is a contemporary examination of the synthesis of man, nature, and science through visual creation. The language these artists create is one of a grotesque Romanticism. At its core, Romanticism is a reaction to the scientific rationalization of nature, stemming from the 18th century. The work in this exhibition is a reaction to the hyper rationalization we face in the 21st century. The artists create an innate emotional image in response to a culture that is very aware of science and its role in nature. Unlike 18th century Romantic thought, the anthropomorphic relationship of the artist’s chosen image steers away from the beauty of nature. Instead, the artists look at the ugly underside of nature and its interconnectedness with human beings.”

NNOTES FROM THE ROAD

We just performed at the Saturday Skateboard’s factory in Charlotte. I didn’t ride the trannies. Thom did. I think he got crabs. Just kidding. By trannies I mean the transitions of the skate ramps, not transexual prostitutes. Four bands and me doing comedy. Music is fun to skate to, so the bands did great! Comedy talk is good to ignore to, so I did great! We had a merch table the size of two merch tables, but it was actually three merch tables! Yeah, you read that correctly. You’re not tripping. Next stop The Whig in Columbia. I’ve lost 5 pounds. How many rice cakes do you have to eat to gain 5 pounds?

NOTES FROM THE ROAD

Performance art is really going great! We played Richmond’s Church of Crystal Light, aka the noise cathedral, last night with Diamond Black Hearted Boy who ruled. With Sweatheart, Narwhalz Of Sound and me touring together there is something for everyone to hate. At bed time you had a choice of where to sleep, on the dirty floor or on a filthy mattress. There is no heat in the Church and Swamp Thing and 3 C.H.U.D. were hanging out in the bathroom all night. Next stop Charlotte.
