Leon Reid IV Lectures at Space 1026
Leon Reid IV will present over 150 images of street work as featured in his new book, “The Adventures Of Darius and Downey” As told to Ed Zipco. The lecture will follow his trajectory from graffiti to street artist and detail his current urban interventions.

The Adventures Of Darius and Downey, As told to Ed Zipco, is street art’s first non-fiction novel. This as-told-to narrative explores the excitement, danger and tragedy of the urban art experience. Author Ed Zipco intimately details the creative relationship between Leon Reid IV (a.k.a Verbs, a.k.a, Darius Jones) and Brad Downey, two young artists coming of age in Brooklyn, New York City.

Giant Robot is proud to present With Friends Like These, a group show featuring new works by Isaac Lin and AJ Fosik.
After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 1998 with a BFA in painting, Isaac Tin Wei Lin moved to Philadelphia. There, he became a Space 1026 member, made paintings and screen prints, participated in shows, and worked odd jobs. In 2003, he moved to San Francisco to attend California College of the Arts. Completing his MFA, he attended a two-month long residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Having had his fill of school, he returned to Philadelphia where he continues to create art ranging from psychedelic, hyper detailed illustration to found photos adormed with geometric corruption.
Drawing inspiration from his background creating street art and signage, AJ Fosik is a Philadelphia-based sculptor who creates animal abstractions, or as he calls them “existential fetishes.” Totemic apparitions of ursine beasts and delicately rendered paintings skirt American folk art and psychedelia. Viewers are confronted with cryptic symbols from overlapping sources, both traditional and contemporary, creating a dynamic tension where art and viewer come together in an expanded definition of culture and assumption.

AUCTION TIME: Live Call In Show from 7-9pm
Mary Beth Flannery and Eduardo Luardo come from a retail and performance art background. They are longtime fans of home shopping as they were both extremely overweight for several years and couch-ridden. They will be hosting a very special hour of Space1026 Shop From Home, “AUCTION TIME!” this December 5, 2008.
They started the show, “Auction Time” after a stint on The Antique Road Show where they were humiliated after bringing what they though was an authentic alicorn (unicorn horn).
They live and work in Narberth, Pennsylvania with their 3 cats, Chairman Meow, Col. Otis J. Whiskerson and Lord Alfred Powerbottom and their many collectible dolls.
